The Mountain Winery

Have you heard of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport? What about the Koenigsegg Agera R? Both sports cars were featured at my client Adam’s Bar Mitzvah! Well, the cars were not there in person, the $2.8M Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which has hit 246.4 MPH was just one of the cars featured as table names and in pictures as part of Adam’s Bar Mitzvah decor at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga.

Both the service and party were held at the beautiful Mountain Winery. The service, led by Adam and his tutor Atara overlooked the gorgeous mountains of Saratoga and beyond. The party’s race car theme showcased cars many of us have never heard of before. But Adam, being the computer and art expert that he is, chose the cars and designed his own table signs. Florist Mindy Rosenberg created beautiful and creative centerpieces and accessories to match the theme like personalized oil cans, and decorated the tables with hollowed out tires filled with jelly beans. Mindy also used wheat grass to display the place cards and created spectacular floral displays for the service area under the tent. DJ Alan Waltz and his dancers had not just the kids up and dancing but all the relatives from all over the world. As a fun add-on, we had a photobooth from Mementostrip. Adam’s aunt who is a scrapbook aficionado set up a scrapbook table so people can use their photostrip to make a page for the Bar Mitzvah boy. It’s a great way to create a sign in book using pictures and people’s creativity. The Mt. Winery is a beautiful and well run venue and I’m looking forward to coordinating another event there in a few months. Photos courtesy of Jeff Cable Photography. Coherence Premiere a Huge Success!

I loved putting together this premiere for the movie Coherence at Camera 12 downtown San Jose!

We rolled out the red carpet, created a photo backdrop “step and repeat”, and the director James Ward Byrkit and 4 actors flew up from LA to attend the event. A post-party was held at Blackbird Tavern with delicious appetizers and desserts! For more information on the movie or Lynn Osband Events, go to

Lime Green, Hot Pink and Turquoise were the theme colors for my client Carly’s Bat Mitzvah

My friend Meryle’s daughter Carly’s Bat Mitzvah was such a beautiful affair! The colors, lime green, hot pink and turquoise showed up in everything from the kippot during the service to the lollipop place card holder handmade by Meryle and Carly. But the warmth and love in the room for Carly and her family outshone all the decor! It was held at the Elks Lodge in Palo Alto, the DJ was Max Mixwell and photobooth was provided by Mementostrip. Photographer was Joel Gringorten. For more information about how Lynn Osband Events can make your event spectacular, call us at 408-981-8422 or

Under the Sea Party

Under the Sea was the theme for my recent event at Shir Hadash. Emily and Rachel Gringorten’s Bnot Mitzvah had bowls of sea rocks, shells and starfish. Balloons looked like swaying underwater reeds and teal and turquoise were the colors for linens, photobooth backdrops and personalized M&Ms. A popcorn machine was the hit of the pre-reception. An Event by Lynn Osband Events

Check out this cool soccer balloon sculpture by Balloonatics for my client Ben’s Bar Mitzvah. The service was at Shir Hadash and the party was at the Toll House in Los Gatos. JJ the DJ did a great job keeping the kids entertained, the Photobooth by Mementostrip always had a line of kids and the Toll House was professional, organized and served delicious food.  Centerpieces sported turf, a soccer guy and the logo of an overseas soccer club. Thank you to photographer Joel Gringorten whose pictures are amazing.  Joel even took a photo of Ben with the Torah in the morning, printed it at home, framed it and brought it to the party to be displayed on the sign in table! What a guy! ImageImageImageImageImage

Fun, Photobooth, Dancing, Good Food and Name in Lights! – Hannah’s Bat Mitzvah at the Redwood City Women’s Club

Hannah’s Bat Mitzvah was full of fun, games and excitement for everyone. It was held at the Redwood City Women’s Club, an old, warm and inviting home with a beautiful courtyard. JJ the DJ led the kids in fun games and engaged all the guests in line and circle dances, the Hora, and a touching closing circle at the end where Hannah was able to go around, hug and thank everyone for coming. They started the evening under the redwood trees in the courtyard with a beautiful havdallah ceremony. Dinner was catered by Catered Too and I can’t say enough about Stephanie, Teri and the staff. Beautiful centerpieces of teal, crystal bling and musical notes on tall stands were done by Balloonatics as was the “Name in Lights.” Photographer was Joel Gringorten and our photobooth was by Mementostrip. The operator was fabulous, always picking up the props and cleaning up the scrapbook table after the guests.

I just joined NACE (National Association for Catering and Events) and I’m really excited!

I just went to the NACE event last week, a “Hunger Games Theme” at Catered Too! and my team won although I wasn’t very good at the games – beer, coffee, chocolate tasting – the only one I aced was the chocolate game of course!

Check out this tip from my “10 Tips for a Successful Bar/Bat Mitzvah or Wedding”

Centerpiece Tip: If you put sports balls in the centerpieces, glue them down or secure them in a vase or the kids will start kicking them around. If your take home gift is a ball, give it to the kids as they leave the building to be picked up. For more Tips, go to my website http://www.LynnOsbandEvents.comball in vase centerpiece

Gift Table Tip: To protect Bat/Bat Mitzvah or Wedding gifts from little hands or guests who are a little snoopy, use a decorated envelope box that guests drop their envelope into on the gift table. Then when everyone has arrived, have your event planner collect the gifts and envelopes into a box and hide under the table, in your car or a safe place, don’t keep them out all night.
